Basic membership of Bradford City Supporters’ Trust is now free of charge

Existing members will continue on their current basis of membership until the expiry of their current annual membership. At that point, their membership of the Trust will become free of charge, and a new permanent membership card will be issued. Those who receive communications electronically will make no further payments. A postal charge of three pounds annually will apply to members who prefer surface mail. In addition, we are creating a new category of Trust Patrons, who make an annual donation (of three pounds or more) by standing order, and will be named (if they wish) as Patrons on this website.

The Trust Board has introduced this change for a number of reasons: first, electronic communication has reduced pro rata costs; second, much of our voluntary administrative time and associated expense is taken up with the annual renewal process itself; third, we wish to increase the official membership numbers to reflect more accurately the true level of support for BCST among City fans; fourth, free membership will encourage closer relationships with other supporters’ groups, as discussed at the last AGM.

Free membership will require a rule change. We have taken legal advice on this issue via Supporters’ Direct nationally, and a suitable amendment to rules will be brought forward to the next AGM. Meanwhile, please spread the word, and help us to increase the membership of the Trust for the interesting times ahead.
