25th Anniversary Campaign nears conclusion

The Trust’s contribution to last season’s 25th Anniversary Campaign has totalled £3932.17 in support of Bradford University Burns Research Unit. This includes £1050 from the Spring Raffle, £45.22 from money boxes in the UpFront café and £13.36 from our stall at the Community Funday in May. Proceeds from earlier bucket collections on match-days make up the final total.

BCST thanks Bradford City FC, the Midland Hotel and Omar Khan’s and Bradley’s restaurants for donating raffle prizes. The John’s Street branch of WM Morrison plc gave us fruit for our Funday activity, and we also thank members of Shipley Bantams, the White Abbey branch, and David Ward and his colleagues for their help with collections.

The Trust understands that the campaign’s overall target of £100,000 has been reached, or nearly so. We hope that the success of the campaign will be announced in the near future, and that the contributions made by numerous organizations and individuals will be published and acknowledged. The magnificent response to the campaign has demonstrated once again the depth of feeling surrounding the events of 1985. The Trust hopes that the future of the Burns Unit at Bradford University is now secure, and will be seeking this assurance from the University.
