Mac Attack

By Bradford City Supporters Trust, May 18 2017 08:54PM

The last regular home league game of the season versus Wimbledon brought the curtain down on our 2016/17 Golden Goals competition.

Our attacking style of play this season has been encapsulated by the performances of full backs James Meredith and Tony McMahon, and it was two goals from Tony Mac that started and finished the 3-0 win over the Dons. A 29th minute penalty for a foul on Josh Cullen gave McMahon the chance to open the scoring, netting lucky competition entrant Heather Thompson the first £25 prize.

Mark Marshall unleashed a thundering near post shot from an acute angle to make it two nil on the stroke of half time before another Marshall run fed Tony McMahon to finish City’s third and final goal of the afternoon in the 85th minute, claimed by Jan Smithies.

Many thanks again to our competition entrants and to all our members for your support this season. We look forward to seeing you at Wembley on Saturday!

As per the rules of entry stated at prizes are awarded for the first and last goals of each regular home league game.
